| Gutentag Leute, Yesterday I visited ETSI Airbase with my Dutch F16, the J-655. After some nice TACAN approaches and a very nice ASR approach, I had to go unfortunately. Nice tot see that German procedures are quiet similar to the Dutch ones, although the phrase 'request your type of landing' confused me a bit at first. (we say 'request your type of approach' when the controller would like to know the intentions of the airman) Mark, thanks for the perfect ATC and I will defenitly back. Today I flew back with the J-655. The guys at EADS where rather quick with the planned update. The weather was perfect, so off we went VFR via Niederstatten, Wiesbaden and Norvenich to the Dutch border... Tought when approaching my homeplate Leeuwarden, I discovered a *slight* problem :![]() Chase-flight confirmed that indeed the gear was not down all the way: ![]() Attempting to lower the gear by gravity and by soft bouncing on the runway were of no use: ![]() A litte damage-controlling over here, trying (and failing ) to keep the nose up:![]() ETSI crew: please ask ground operations to check the fences and surrounding woods, looking for my gear Or have the Germen X-service guys something to do with this incident Tsjusch, Emiel 'DIANA' Ekamper Geändert von Emiel Ekamper (2006-05-06 um 20:54 Uhr) |

Found your Gear! We installed in the Eurofighter, have needed a better anyway. and by the way: How did ya extract the single gear? Thanks for the visit! We enjoy it having the vRNLAF at our field. Hope a lot to see ya some more often at ETSI. Greetings to the whole DUTCH MIL and the vRNLAF staff! Jakob, aka EAGLE6...

Hi, I did not notice the gear issue untill lowering the damn thing. Then only one wheel came down, probably using the last bit of hydrolic pressure, since I thereafter could not raise or lower the gear anymore. Good news is that the aircraft can and will be repaired. Lucky me. Grtz, Emiel |
