VATeir, celebrating 10 years of Irish ATC, is pleased to announce details of this year's St. Patrick's MEGA event. This year is a big year for VATeir who are marking 10 years since the formation of the Irish VACC, as such this years St. Patrick's event will be a special one.

WHEN AND WHERE?

One of VATSIM's biggest events of the year returns on Sunday 14th March from 1600Z to 2200Z. As with every year, the main airports across Ireland will be staffed with the best in Irish ATC throughout the event.

Dublin(EIDW), Cork(EICK), and Shannon(EINN) will be fully staffed, as well as some regional airports, along with enroute ATC from Shannon Control.

This is one of the biggest events on the VATSIM calender, and we want to invite all VATSIM members to make Ireland their destination this March 14th and help us celebrate 10 years of Irish ATC, and make this year's event the biggest yet!

PRIZE DRAW

As this years St. Patrick's event will be marking 10 years of Irish ATC, to celebrate we'll be holding a draw after the event where each person will have the chance to win 1 of 10 prizes:

We also want to remind pilots flying into Dublin, Cork, Shannon, and Kerry to make sure their AFCAD is up-to-date with the updated ILS frequencies for the following runways:

Dublin Runway 28 - 111.35
Cork Runway 35 - 109.15
Shannon Runway 24 - 110.95
Kerry Runway 26 - 108.70

Links to updated AFCADs for Irish airports can be found HERE, as well as on the event website. Also if you're flying into/out of Dublin, please make sure that you put in your remarks what scenery you're using so the controller knows, as taxi instructions will vary depending on the scenery.

Es war zu viel für sie. So viele TCAS RAs und traffic warnings bei einem Flug hat man selten.

Ich fand es genial...

LOWW-EIDW: Ankuft um kurz nach 18 Uhr...ohne Wartezeit direkt auf den Final.

EIDW-EICK: No. 3 for departure...Flug ohne Probleme, Frequenzen waren nicht überlastet und doch war ne Menge los. Landung in EICK um kurz vor 20 Uhr.

EICK-EIDW: Genug Fuel mitgenommen. In EICK etwas (zu) lange short of rwy35 gestanden, weil VFR Traffic noch ne Runde drehen wollte und ich somit nicht backtracken durfte. Flug auf FL190 ohne Probleme, EIDW_S_CTR schickte mich dann auf FL190 dct TULSO und ab ins Holding. Dort durfte ich dann eine Runde nach der anderen drehen, hatte eine TCAS RA, ansonsten hat der Controller gerne auch mal 2000ft zwischen den Fliegern gelassen, damit wir uns nicht zunahe kamen. Stück für Stück descended und auf FL70 das Holding verlassen -> contact 121.100 -> als No. 3 aufs ILS und 2nm vorm Touchdown die landing clearence erhalten. Am Boden war es dann gar nicht so voll wie in der Luft.

Alles in allem ein wunderschöner Abend in Ireland

Hope you enjoyed the event guys, and apologies for any delays experienced. We had a huge, huge turnout and I just want to thank everyone from VATGER who flew in yesterday - go raibh míle míle maith agaibh(a thousand thousand thank yous)!

I also just want to remind anyone who flew in the event yesterday that you can still enter the prize draw by e-mailing events[at]vateir.com with your name, VATSIM ID, and callsign flown. Entries must be in by Tuesday 16th March and the 10 winners will be announced on St. Patrick's Day(17th March).

@Christoph: I can't comment on other controllers who you flew under earlier in the event, but I was on Director myself when you flew in as BAW182 and at no point was there any separation loss between you and another aircraft. All I can say is we had to deal with a huge amount of aircraft, and with Dublin being a 1 runway operation delays had to be expected. We tried to get everyone in as quickly as possible and minimise any delay, but I appreciate that some aircraft could've had less of a delay, but I hope despite this you at least took some enjoyment from the event.

Traffic conflicts were all in the hold over ROKNA.
Spacing on final was fine and don´t worry about delay. If there is a big event, I expect that.

We were flying out of Ronaldsway (Isle Of Man) yesterday evening with our Dukes and were amazed by the amount of traffic overflying the Irish Sea.

Lets see if the next CTP can beat that. I'll fly out of Dublin.
