Are you bored of always flying IFR flights at high altitudes? Have you ever thought of flying VFR? The Dutch VACC will organize on
Sunday the 22nd of June, the
Dutch VACC VFR Navigation contest, starting at
1200 UTC. This won't be just another event, this is going to be just a little more complicated than you might be used to. So, why is that?
This event is competition event. The goal is to navigate within a given timeframe, based on your airspeed, along all the navigation points, and to recognize some photo-objects. The better you'll do this, the less 'penalties' you'll get. The pilot who gets the least penalties will be the winner of this competition. However, if you want to fly a nice VFR flight, but you don't want to join the competition, you're very welcome as well! The airports involved are
Soesterberg (EHSB) and
Woensdrecht (EHWO).
Of course there are some documents which you do have to read before joining the competition. They are written in Dutch, but on request available in English. You can request the English and Dutch ones by
sending an email to the Event Coordinator. Come fly VFR!
