| ![]() Name: Vancouver FIR Mountain Madness Date: Saturday, February 10, 2007 Time: 1000 - 1500 PST (1800 - 2300 UTC) It is my pleasure to introduce to your Vancouver FIR Mountain Madness. It is an all day event taking place on Saturday, February 10, at 1800 - 2300 UTC. It will be an event sponsored by many of the add-on companies that we have known and can’t do without. The opportunity exists to add these add-ons to your hangar, scenery to your database, or weather to your route. We currently have more than 30 prizes and the list keeps growing. But you must participate in order to win! This is an event similar to the one organized at the Edmonton FIR which was termed the “Halloween Extreme”. It was said that this was one of the best events ever on VATSIM. Our challenge at the Vancouver FIR is to exceed that great event. If you ever watched Jeopardy then you will get a hang of what the Vancouver event will be all about. You have the option of risking your hard earned points (you earn these by flying mileage) in order to top the list to earn some prizes. We will have controllers manned in all different positions in all different airports throughout the Vancouver FIR from Flight Service Stations at Uncontrolled airports to Vancouver Arrival to Prince George Tower to Enroute Controllers. Our controller list continues to grow and we expect to have at least 20 controllers online and over 200 pilots for your “as real as it gets” atmosphere. The debate has always loomed “if the controllers are online, they will come”. Well it is time to put it to the test. We will be there waiting for you. So, if you are looking for the “as real as it gets” environment come out to the Vancouver Mountain Madness. For all the rules and regulations , and list of prizes for the event check out our site at http://www.czvr.ca/_Pilot_Resources/...tain/index.php and be prepared for the best event of the decade. We will also be giving out prizes to the pilots of the VA who has the most participants. The pilots belonging to the VA with the most pilots that participate in the event will have there name entered into a hat. We will draw 3 prizes to give out to those pilots. Please inform your VA of this large event. Any Questions don't hesitate to email me at events@czvr.ca Thanks and hope to see you there. von Brandon Van Brunt, VATCAN Events Director
