Gentlemen,

As more or less pre announced some 5 months ago, Ton has now indicated that he wishes to step down due to the fact he is soon coming of age ;D and whilst I dreaded this day from approaching also know it was unavoidable.

I don't think I am out of order taking this opportunity to give a HUGE thank you to TON on behalf of all of us for the extraordinary tasks and support that he has provided this community with over all the years. I clearly remember when i started as a Pilot on SATCO that a certain Mr Ton Out with a high and never to be questioned or for that matter reachable rating of INS helped me on some of my first online flights!

Ton will be missed and although he claims he will retire I am hopeful we will see him from time to time amongst us.

The Tasks of ATC Director are:

* Design & organise database of Sector files for the airspace of Countries within the Division, and update relevant webpages
* Assign ATC Frequencies to avoid transmission on same channels and update relevant webpage
* Allocate Squawk-codes for use by the FIRs
* Coordinate agreements of ATC procedures between VACCs in case the need arises

Members applying should also supply the following information:

- the position you are applying for
- Your VATSIM ID, your ATC rating and the vACC you belong to
- A short CV, including prior staff experiences
- Any involvement in DCRM situations, also involving other members
- Other issues, which you as a candidate think is relevant, or important
- The candidate needs to have some knowledge and experience with the MSACCESS database application.
- The estimated time needed per week on performing the duties of this position is 4 to 5 hours

This is one of the key positions within the Division and the successful candidate will also become a full voting VATEUD Staff member with all responsibilities and obligations of said position.

Due to the very specific nature of this position and as this position has always been held by Ton, I have agreed with him and with the rest of the VATEUD Staff that the selection of the eventual candidate will be chosen by the only person who is totally qualified to chose the successor which is actually Ton himself.
