Standard AutoCad GroundLayouts help

Hello,

A while ago a member by the name of Alexander Fath made AutoCad groundlayouts and conversion tools the original thread on VRC can be found here: http://www1.metacraft.com/VRC/forums...&highlight=cad
The conversion tools where made by him and available on the VATSIM Germany File library. DXF 2 SCT, SCT 2 DXF, AFCAD XML 2 SCT.

However I'm having trouble aligning the Chart to the AFCAD. I've done this:
  • Took Ground Chart from LFPO
  • Converted PDF to DXF
  • Removed the stuff not needed for ground layout
  • Then put everything into Layers
Then I don't know what to do. If someone could help me it would be great! Using AutoCad 2017.

Hello Chris,

Unfortunately Alexander has not been active in a while. I have the tools also and will have gladly have a look for you once I get home from work in the evening. Send me the files you have so far and I will write a quick step by step for you once I can remember the steps myself. Perhaps Stefan Minke still knows the exact sequence of how to do this with Alex's tools.

Hello Christopher,

I haven't received any updates on any guide or tutorial for a month. I know you have things to do outside VATSIM but eagerly waiting for a guide.

Thanks

Hello Chriss,

sorry for the delay ... been quite swamped with work and other things going on. I tried to find my documentation about this but somewhow am unable to find it.

From my original ZSE ARTCC Post when I started working on their EuroScope Sector files:

Zitat:
First I take a PDF of the Chart of the Ground Layout and convert said PDF Chart to .dwg Format to be used in AutoCAD 2014.

The next step is to remove everything except for the Runways, Apron, Taxiways, Buildings and Labels.

I then take an AFCAD file directly from the Scenery and convert it for import into AutoCAD. I place my previously modified PDF Chart on top of the AFCAD Paths and line them up as exact as I can get ... and believe me ... you can get pretty exact with a 4000% Zoom rate

I hide the AFCAD Layers from the Working Document in AutoCAD and save it.
You then Convert the saved AutoCad DXF back to SCT2 Format and have your final product.
